I was told, when I was 23, I had the teeth of a 50-year-old, on account of my grinding.

No dentist since has mentioned it. Not one.
I have minor periodontal disease in my back teeth, where cleaning is nigh on impossible, and I have gotten it under control in the last 12 months (I didn't go to the dentist for years after a second-opinion discounted the 'grinding' thing.

From memory, it can be halted or controlled.
