Write Every Day: Day 28

I got woken up by a rooster this morning! When I first moved into this neighbourhood 20+ years ago I used to hear roosters all the time - it was mostly older Portuguese people and they hid illegal chickens in their garages and had pigeon coops on their balconies. The area has gentrified since then and it's been over a decade since I've heard a rooster crowing.

It was in fact cooler last night and I wrote 300 words. I'm hitting the part of the story where I'm not sure what happens next, so that may slow me down.

(It was cooler because the winds switched to coming from the north, so it's bringing all the smoke with it. I think this would count as a "be careful what you wish for" situation.)

Still looking for a volunteer to take over July.
