I went by the spot where he was picked up and I think what happened is that he was cutting through a parking lot to get to the next street. There's just enough space between one of those arms that comes down to block cars and the opposite fence to fit a bicycle with tons of elbow room. Unfortunately there is also a four-inch lip on the across the concrete.
