My co-worker with the thick Italian accent is trying to get through the HR voice recognition software and it's exactly like listening to the Scottish elevator sketch.
When the Xbox voice recognition came out I realised that if I said "Xbox" it would ignore me, but if I put on a comedy Midwest American accent and said "xbaaaaaax" it lept to life immediately.
M and I rented a car recently that has voice-activated navigation. After 5 minutes of futilely trying to get it to understand me, I told it to fuck off and entered our destination manually.
