we have a new boss's boss and he wants to see reports and have meetings on everything we do.

Ugh. Because the only way to get things done is via metrics.

It's not even the first time we've had this conversation. It's not even his fault, he's following the provincial guidelines. Meanwhile I pretty much ignore the provinces rules because I have my rules, and they are "Don't do stupid shit just because the provincial government is mishandling the pandemic and letting/forcing people do stuff that will lead to them getting sick."

My parents refuse to even go to a restaurant for dinner. They're fine going to a cafe for a coffee and lunch, because they can sit outside. My mother went totally paranoid during out lockdown and still hasn't totally shaken it off.

I have no idea what your rules are like there, but I'm guessing they are closer to Stupid than Sensible.

This fence is going to be huge - judging by the workman guiding in the posts, they're at minimum 6 metres tall once they're planted.

I assume you know why? Because 6m is a helluva big fence. I hope the sun doesn't come in that way.
