wrong time, locked in, locked out

Work has decreed that all employees must be double-vaxxed by the end of October, and the Old Man's residence sent out a notice that all visitors must be able to produce the new vaccine passport. Both require a licensed version, so yesterday I dropped out of the clinical trial and went to a pharmacy that was giving out Moderna.

My arm is killing me and I feel like complete ass.

Early night tonight I think.

My 2nd moderna shot hit me just like that. Never been so grateful and happy to feel like thrice-hammered shit. Happy convalescing!

That was the main reason I decided not to participate in the trial. Although to date, the Assembly has not stated that it will be requiring all staff to be fully vaxxed. But there's also the vaccine passport coming into effect on the 22nd.

Did you talk to the trial about mixing vaccines?

It's something that isn't allowed here, but I think I've seen the Americans doing it (but, they gave us HQ and Ivermectin, so....) but I'd guess there could be potential side effects.

I thought you were double-jabbed, so I guess you've now had a booster shot!

On the plus side, I didn't have to do any of the scrambling my friends did to try and find an appointment.

Mixing vaccines is allowed here. And even if it weren't, as far as Health Canada is concerned a vaccine that isn't out of trials yet doesn't officially exist.

So I still have to do this one more time and I am not looking forward to it.

Oh Moderna kicked my ass hard. It seems (anecdata here only) to be the one that gives more side effects on average than Pfizer, at least from the people I know who have gotten it. Feel better and yay for vaccination <3

We don't have Moderna here yet. Maybe because you had affects for dose one they won't be as bad for dose 2?

It's a crapshoot, I guess. My Pfizer 1 was mild, but worse than dose 2, which is not how it's supposed to be.

I'm team Moderna also. The first shot wasn't too bad for me... some chills, my temp went up a bit, etc. The second shot really kicked my butt though. 36 hours of high temp, body aches, chills, etc. The weird thing (and I had been warned about this... and it turned out to be true for me) is that when it was done, it was _done_. I went from "ugh. one more nap. I can't function" to "Hm. I think I'm going to go to the store" in a matter of about 2-3 minutes. I don't know if that's universal, but I was warned about it and it did happen to me.
