Dear Ms NiLoughlin

I am writing in regards to your application to be Named in the Ontario Adoption Disclosure REgister dated April 10 1996.

I am pleased to advise you that your birth daughter has also submitted an application indicating her interest in meeting and sharing information, if you are both agreeable and consent to the disclosure.

We have asked the Children's Aid Society of Toronto to provide services in helping you re-establish contact. A counsellor from that agency will be in touch with you to make further arrangements. You should be aware that in some societies, due to workload issues, there is a delay before the counsellor can provide this service.

I am also informing your birth daughter of your registration.

I hope that you are pleased with this information and that this will prove to be a happy and rewarding experience for both of you.

Sincerely
M***** D*******

Wonderful news!

*cross fingers* I hope you like her!

Right fucking on!!!! Thanks so much for sharing the news...it's just awesome to get to see good things happening to good people for a change. And I can't wait to hear how the meeting goes...assuming she didn't get adopted by mohawked punks it will be an interesting test of nature vs. nurture. :) How much of her uber-cool-tough-punk mom genes helped shape her over the years?

Good luck Sio!

Mega-congratulations!

Such good and wonderful news!

Right the FUCK on!

As someone on the adoptee end of the scale, I can tell you that whether it's a good meeting or a bad one ( had both, good-birthmom bad-spermspiller ) at least it'll give closure AND a potential opening.

Good luck ... and when do we get to scare your daughter?

that's so wonderful!

please let me know how it goes.

I was adopted myself but I am too much of a pussy to seek out my birth mother. Where do you sign up to do that?

I've already said this elsewhere, but hearing this made me incredibly happy, and I can only imagine how you felt when you opened that letter. :)

Hope it goes wonderfully for you both, and....when do we get to meet her? :) :)

I have had this post open in my browser for a couple of days and I'm still not sure what to say, so, I'll just say that I don't fully understand what this means for you, and never will, but I know it's something you've wanted for a long time, I'm pleased for you, and I hope it all works out.

I realise I can post exactly the same comment to the other person whose post has sat in my browser for a couple of days, despite it being very different circumstances :)

That is wonderful news! (even if a little scary, I'm sure..) I can't believe you didn't mention it when you were here!
