My theory is Chow is the "frontrunner" because hers is likely the most recognizable name at the moment. There are what -- about 50 candidates currently running? I'm pretty sure that's why Tory was re-elected last time -- out of 30+ candidates, his was the only name most people who bothered to vote recognized. At the Legislature, we're betting that if Chow wins, the Assembly will be recalled to immediately repeal the "Strong Mayor" Act the government introduced because Ford and co. won't want someone like Chow having that much power to push things through that they don't agree with.
