Covid diary: day 1

I am so tired SO TIRED. I slept 12 hours last night and I could go back to bed right this minute. (In fact, I think I will as soon as I'm done this. Embrace the nap.)

Most of my symptoms are respiratory, which is a bit of a relief to be honest. Housemate's started as a GI thing, and that did not look at all fun. So lots of snot, raw throat, wet cough, headache, aching sinuses. Brain fog of course.

That flu thing where your muscles ache? Like that, but turned up to eleven.

It also seems to have wiped out ten years of vestibular physiotherapy. I'm not dizzy at all, but my body has no idea which direction up is. So I'm holding onto the walls, especially on stairs. My house has a lot of stairs.

All the things you have heard about the taste of Paxlovid, they are all true. Ugh.

They’re the little red cinnamon candies that can be bought all over near Valentine’s Day, but they’re around the rest of the year too. They’re just a little harder to find the rest of the year, but they’re always available from online ordering or candy shops.

They look like this: https://mtnman.com/products/cinnamon-lovers-panned-hot-cinnamon-hearts?variant=38317101482153 .Big Red would work too but you’d need a LOT of it. The advantage of the cinnamon hearts is that because they’re tiny, you can basically just have one slowly melting in your mouth constantly.

I'll hunt around. I may have seen them in specialty candy shops. They're not something that i've seen here - but I suspect I know a few import places that may have them.
