BIRTH! SCHOOL! WORK! DEATH!
CAT!
Lord Brock is now on prednisone. (I remember the name because it's the same steroid my sister was treated with when doctors first diagnosed her auto-immune disorder.) Two days later he was eating his weight in chicken and four days later he is following me around the house and yelling at me like nothing happened. Complete turn-around. Fingers crossed this is the magic bullet.
HOUSE!
Inching along. Work on getting the walls and doors fixed was delayed by days of rain, but dude promised he'd be here first thing tomorrow morning. Haven't heard from roof guy, probably for the same reasons. I have started calling around for quotes to get the stairs built from the kitchen.
ME!
I have shit feet. They hurt pretty much all the time, but lately they've been extra special painful. So off I hobbled to a podiatrist, who immediately told me I have plantar fasciitis. This is a Latin phrase that roughly translates to "shit feet".
I can't even blame age for this one.
He gave me stretches, a prescription that has to be compounded, and an order to stay off my feet. So far I have managed one of those three things. Eventually I will manage to find a compounding pharmacy in this city that is open more than two hours a week, but not walking is going to be harder.
Hopefully my insurance will pay for orthotics. But I draw a hard line at Birkenstocks.

Sorry about your feet though.

It's not convenient to you, but there's one up the street from us on Marlee that is open 7 days a week, 9 to 7 M-F and only slightly shorter hours on Sat and Sun.

Less good about the compounding pharmacy. There's several near me, which is not helpful.
But given they have restrictive hours, and there's I assume there's no delivery service, maybe they have a reciprocal arrangement with a nearby store you can pick up from once it's prepared?
birkies
[ducks]
I am actually considering getting a pair used to try them out because boy are they expensive but I need sandals. Also I think they may take my toaster oven back at some point. (I think goths are exempted from this; you're fine.)

Vionic orthotic slippers at home have been essential for me, even though they get smelly weirdly fast if I don't wear socks with them 100% of the time (I haunt Amazon and eBay for discounted pairs of the "Lynez" style.)
I have a few pairs of "Super Feet" orthotics that I swap in and out of shoes as needed. They're essential for things like my gardening boots with no support. I also have to NOT wear totally flat shoes/boots (so Docs are Right Out, unless I can fit the orthotics in them, and I have a high instep meaning a lot of boots then really smoosh my foot.... I favor boots with a slight heel as a result.) I hadn't owned "tennis shoes" or "trainers" or w/e in decades, but got a pair of Brooks runners from their "Run Proud" collection a few years ago with the Pride flag and trans flag and Progress flag on them (go loud or go home?). They're now my daily "leave the house" shoe since my beloved Frye harness boots no longer work with my calves.
The stretches help. Also scrunching up bath towels with your toes. Mostly you have to let the tears heal, and they heal sloooooowly.

orthopedic shoes
Ortho Feethave some nice looking shoes with good support https://www.orthofeet.com/collections/boots-for-women
I found I can wear my docs if I use the custom orthotics my podiatrist had me get.
Hoka sneakers help my pain a lot when I am running around the classroom all day.

I tend to avoid heels because of the vertigo, but I bought some Bludstones last year that have a very small lift and those have been fine.

Hmm. Doesn't really scan.
