living with the loaded gun
Last post of the day. I swear.
This kind of shit drives me bug-fuck. It was not a fucking accident. Nobody accidentally leaves their young children in a running vehicle and then fucks off to run errands.
I feel the same way about stories of drunk driving "accidents". Nobody accidentally makes the decision to drive a car to a location where they know they are likely to be drinking. Or accidentally has those drinks when they know that the car parked outside is their only way home.
Makes me want to "accidentally" plant my boot in somebody's ass.

i'll help you do some stomping. Rightly pisses me off. i mean, kids in those age range hardly slow you down when you're doing errands. It's not like she had two in a stroller!

Well, to be fair, I think that would be "makes me want to plant my boot in somebody's ass, with the possibility that in so doing I would accidentally rupture that person's internal organs in such a way as to cause that person to die."

6 year-old boy unbuckles 2 year-old girl from car seat. They play for a few minutes. He falls asleep.
2 year-old girl climbs up on door and presses the electric window control. Gets her head trapped in the window. Loses consciousness.
Passerby sees her, frees her from the window and runs to find a phone and call 911.
Mother returns, assumes girl is asleep and buckles her back into carseat. Drives home. Realized when she takes children out of the car that she's not breathing.
Child is pronounced dead upon arrival to hospital.
I think the mother should have been charged with criminal negligence.

Aren't children taken away from their parents for being left unattended like that??

It seems like a pretty clear-cut case to me. I'm not sure why this mother wasn't charged.
