I just had the Best. Shower. Of my life.

Followed by the best lamb burger and best corn on the cob of my life.

I had already polished off at least two of the best beers in my life.[1] And the world's best futon awaits.

Tonight I am going to sleep the sleep of the just.


[1] Only slightly beating out the first beer I drank immediately after spending the night sleeping on a sidewalk in Harlow.

I have to admit I would rather at be at parties with people getting silly with the jello shots and/or Tidy Bowl. But a feeling of accomplishment is a nice thing to go to bed with.

(But I'm still taking next weekend off.)

Hell, I'd settle for a good night's sleep and having my kid fall asleep within an hour of bedtime. Come to think of it, it is late enough in the summer that a weekend of basement renovation would sound great if it was kid free. Wow, by October you could probably really exploit that. ;)

Nothing feels as good as a shower at the end of a day of renos. Following that up with a gin and tonic makes things pretty damn perfect.

What? I'm careful! When I needed air, I went outside and got some, I kept my eyes open for nails, I got Glenn to grab things out of my hands when I needed to carefully manoever around things...I was fine!
