The privacy issue for me isn't terribly important, but it does mean that various queer communities (and the accounts of all those that ever participated, even in a comment thread) on LJ can be shut down at any time, for "gay propaganda" which is totally illegal in Russia. That's a huge amount of accounts, and makes the whole idea of "community" be kind of in peril.

Since I barely use it any more because it's basically an abandoned platform, and I have always been a little iffy on LJ since the SUP takeover, I'm nuking in what I like to call Actual Strikethrough.

Sad, though. I mean DW's "we only show the last 14 days of entries" is dumb.

It was functionality they had, and like LJ they removed it for whatever reason, at some point in the last year.

I'm sure it's been backlashed and re-considered by now. I'll bet they do it to try to force people to come back more regularly. Jokes on them.
