i'm inclined to bide my time

The yard sale went reasonably well. I had set aside about three boxes of stuff to put out, one of which was full of things to just give away for free. As I was setting up the table Axel disappeared into the basement and returned with... three more big boxes that I hadn't known about. Fortunately we had a second table in the shed.

It's the first time we have participated on one of these and it was actually a lot of fun. As well as the usual yard-sale stuff various houses were selling coffee, lemonade and pizza. One woman was selling tomato and pepper seedlings with the profits going to the David Suzuki Foundation. There were also a bunch of activities for kids going on in the park at the end of the street. We met and re-met a whole bunch of neighbours. It was a lovely sunny day so we brought Carlin out to let the old man bask in the sun and he was by far the most popular thing on the table - both kids and adults wanted to pet him or take his picture.

So we made over 50 bucks and a lot of things left the house. The remainder are sitting on the porch waiting for a van to come around on Monday from one of the local charities and then they will go away too.

This weekend is Northern Ink Xposure. (This led to an amusing conversation with my boss when he asked me what I was doing on the weekend, and now I have seen his full back-piece.) I suspect it's going to be packed and I'm kind of dreading that part.

On Sunday I might just... take a day off. Putter. Play video games. I kind of feel like I could use one.

Nice! The one on Palmerston used to come around and high pressure everyone to donate 100% of proceeds to their charity of choice. We were like, guys, the dentists don't live here anymore. I gotta send some kids to camp. Happy to be out of there and where people let you have your fifty bucks!

That sounds great.

It's much more about getting rid of stuff than making money, but knowing that stuff will go to a new home where someone likes it is a good feeling.

My town does a "garage sale trail" once a year and as my place is between the town centre, and the place where people with no front yards of their own can set up tables (next to the recycling depot), I plan to take part in the next one.

Sundays are for getting right with the LORD. WHY DO YOU HATE THE LORD?

I'm glad the sale went well. A 'hood sale sounds ideal.

THE LORD could come play video games if he wanted to. Don't just blame Sio for this one!

My default *is* blame Sio.
Or praise Sio.
I forget.
