Write Every Day: Day 1
I only managed an alibi sentence today, unless you count the 50+ words written on my resume (CV for the Europeans) I swear I had a current resume tucked away on a hard drive somewhere, but the only one I could find is from 2008. Which just a titch out of date. The hardest part has been trying to track down the dates for everything I've done in the meantime.
How did your day go?
How did your day go?

Day 1: I wrote 1,200 words on the second draft of the Flight of the Heron/White Cockades crossover which is my current main project—reworking the pivotal dramatic scene. Just a few more days to go on this draft, I think...

Aug 1st - 740 words. A drabble, 3 double drabbles, and some editing on a fic for posting.

Day 1: a little bit of work on my goal fic, some scribbled notes about how the climax is going to go, and I finished and posted a long meta post about the writing theory differences between writing fanfic and original fic.
(My goals for August (how is it August??) are 1) this current fic (which was supposed to be a short diversion while I waited for another fic to come back from beta, but is already just shy of 30k), and b) the fic that has indeed now come back from beta. Also, I'm co-modding a Guardian-specific gifting fest, so I plan to write c) a few (hopefully short!) gifts for that.)
I'll be back later to check in for today (2nd)...
ETA: Day 2: I worked on my fic for a while (and completely failed at noting down a word count). A medium amount? :-)

My goal for August is to get my longfic at least to 70K, with a stretch goal of 75K.
Thanks for hosting! : )

I helped brainstorm FanExpo programming for the Ontario HWA. Apparently there will be a horror stage for the first time this year! Also swapped august open submissions info with some people. There, I wrote four sentences. :)

Also, I empathize with you, re: resume/CV. I haven't updated mine in probably a decade, but I distinctly remember how difficult it was to recall dates, roles, activities, etc., when I did it back then. I'm glad you got it done! :-)

Well done on your words!

Goals for August: Dare I say "finish the draft of Hornblower's Lost Honour"? Now that I've sent off chapter 10, I only have the epilogue left, and I daresay I'm past the halfway mark on that already.

I originally had somewhat ambitious writing goals for August, following some good things happening to me last month, writing-wise; but between hormones playing me badly (can you say that in English?) and bad health news about a dear friend it's hard to focus right now. OTOH writing is a trusted coping mechanism for me, so instead of my planned projects I might write a lot of drawer fic or so.
Anyhoo, writing-related things did happen yesterday, as I was preparing the moodboards I made for the Scribbles & Drabbles challenge for posting on AO3, and worked at converting the prompts I put with them into a kind of summary/image description for their public posting. I didn't count the words but worked at that for about two hours.

Good for you for getting all that done even when you aren't feeling at your best. Sometimes distraction is a good thing.
