Hey, that's what they're for! :-) I hope today is a better writing day for you.

On Day 14, I wrote 310 words of a new short story idea I had. It's a sequel to an unpublished original short story that I never quite got right. I think the reason it landed wrong for me was that it was more a vehicle for working through some feelings/ideas around identity. This sequel feels more like a story than a confession/catharsis, if that makes sense. Anyway, there's no guarantee I'll finish it, but I like what I have so far.

Day 14: Wrote long brainstorming letter to beta reader about the outline for a future fic, using the handwritten notes from the other day.

Day 14: 12 minutes-ish, just over a page. I can barely believe I've managed to keep it up for two solid weeks, not even using my old "the day does not end until I have gone to sleep" definition of "days" yet. Of course I have a very extroverted and apparently not particularly organized guest sleeping on the pull out couch starting tomorrow until Monday so that will be the challenge.

Day 12: 500 words plus more fic transfer, editing and shuffling things around
Day 13: 120 words plus the same, plus about 4 pages of morning pages and two pages longhand to get a plotbunny/story idea out of my head.

Day 14: More or less alibi revisions (that is, more cut-and-paste than thinking & revising). It was a distracting hurry-up-and-wait day of adulting. Sigh.
