Write Every Day: Day 19

I took some time to sit on my porch yesterday with a glass of wine. OK, three glasses of wine, but who's counting. I ended up with half a dozen pages of scribbles to transcribe and a mild headache when I got up this morning.

Doctor River Song loves going outside but is only allowed to do so on a leash. I held up her harness and when she saw it she ran over and started dancing around me until I put it on her. Yes this is a cat I'm talking about. She spent my entire writing time sitting in the weeds and blinking at the insects.

Speaking of insects, apparently this is a ladybug larvae. I love how something that looks like a character from a children's cartoon as an adult can look like something that crawled out of a nightmare in their immature stage. There's just something about that that feels very backwards.

Was it raining? Feels right to sit on a covered porch, with some alcohol, and watch the rain. I admit have rarely done it, but enjoyed it when doing it.

I well recall the day I figured out that those were ladybugs-to-be too, and yes, definitely nightmare fuel. Also, I, too, have a cat who is only allowed out on a harness. Alas, she outgrew her old one and does NOT like the new one, so we have that moment at the back door when she cries to come out, I hold up the new harness, and she runs away. *sighs*

On Day 19, I added 405 to Chapter 16.

Jun 18: a few longhand sentences before finishing packing the UHaul and assorted vehicles and driving the UHaul-driver's car eight hours south, complete with the UHaul-driver's houseplants, cat, pet fish, chopsaw, and all the equipment normally associated with the above.

Jun 19: a few longhand paragraphs before driving back home again. This time, thankfully, with a second qualified driver who could swap shifts with me, plus lunch with mid-route friends on the way -- altogether a far more pleasant experience than the day before had been, notwithstanding still being exhausted from the same.
