On occasion my gf and I have talked about parody songs we've encountered long before we ever heard the original. And how much we actually like the parodies so much more.

Her favourite example is Hey There Cuthulu, which is a parody of Hey There Delilah

Mine is Batman Maybe, a parody of Call Me Maybe.

This one kinda doesn't count because Stacy's Mom came out a couple of decades ago and it was everywhere like every bad catchy pop song that's ever existed. But I love Stacy's Dad so much I'm putting it here anyway. (I lose it at "Hi hungry, I'm dad" Every. Single. Time.)

Ahaha, those are all amazing! Thanks so much for linking. (And ha, that last one is by the same group who did my favourite, Bi Bi Bi. :D :D :D)

"Hi hungry, I'm dad." omg. hahahahaha.
I'm not a huge fan of covers, but these aren't covers, so maybe that makes it ok? :)
These are hilarious!

I have always remarked that "Jurassic Park" makes so much more sense than "MacArthur Park", and easier to sing too. . .

... wow, just watched "Stacy's Dad" and I am... having so many feelings???

I encountered "Dare to Be Stupid" long before I ever heard DEVO, and the other day KEXP played it right after "Uncontrollable Urge" and for a minute I was a little disoriented and thinking "oh cool they're playing two DEVO songs in a row" because sometimes they do that but then I realized "nope it's Weird Al" and I had a new appreciation for how well he did with that track.
