The most disturbing thing about the whole Janet Jackson dumb-fest is the number of adults who are apparently unable to distinguish the not-terribly-subtle difference between a body part and a sex act.

More sexual overtones than were exhibited by the cheerleaders in their skimpy outfits or the Victoria Secret langerie models they had last year as part of the scripted half-time show? Definitely not. In fact, probably less.

Jackson bares a breast on live primetime TV and there's an official investigation, a court case, demands for an apology and vast quantities of media coverage.
Meanwhile, also on live primetime TV, Lydon turns to the camera and describes the viewers as "fucking cunts". It gets about 24 hours of media coverage and an "oops" from the company responsible for the show who (then add a 30 second delay to subsequent live shows). Less than 100 complaints were received.
Hmm. :)
