Fair Warning

When I am Evil Overlord, people who use ellipsis as their sole punctuation will be the first to die.

Thought you were already Evil Overlord.
You have minions and Flying Monkeys, yes?
Perhaps you are merely an Evil Underlord.
I have a hard time keeping up with such things.

Ohmigosh! I'm glad my mom has started punctuating her emails fully, instead of typing them like Public Service Announcements, the way she used to. And not only 'cause it means you might spare her. :->

Obscured photo weilders unite! ;-) Yours is nice, anyway.

Let me guess: Their name begins with an "S" and they've been posting incessantly to a certain mailing list about a certain event that happened in Toronto last night?

Yeah. Let me know when the culling is about to begin and I'll help.

but but but... I like ellipses... I've been using them for years... everyone on alt.gothic used to know it was really me by my over use of ellipses... *sniffle*

I DON'T WANNA DIE!!

heh well I'll have to watch it then. I'm prone to going elipse happy at times. *must remember to use proper punctuation. must not use more then one elipse in a paragraph!*

Dead Ellipses

My main problem with them is related to the fact that I tend to "hear" people's voices in my head when I am reading their words. When sentances end with a series of dots, the voice in my head kind of trails off and the thought is never completed.

Maybe it's neurotic, but "hearing" that constantly drives me absolutely bonkers.

There are a few other things I find a little annoying -- I can handle people who never use capitals or Type Only In Titles, people who abuse tab keys a la TSM, or even Cusraque's old stylized poetry. People who don't break up their paragraphs, or all caps are harder to read, but the ellipses habit is is the one thing that seriously bugs me.

Sorry Eileen. It had to come out some day. :-)
