I've been trying to remember my dreams lately.
I was on a huge boat. I mean huge, thousands of people lived on it in tiny cramped apartments. Everything was made out of wood. I lived in one of those apartments, basically a single room with a low ceiling, I had a couch and a desk and books overflowing everywhere.
Getting around meant walking narrow passageways and climbing ladders to different levels. I was walking with Axe, talking about a friend who had just left for another section, miles away. It would take him months to walk there and back. That section was much older, and built out of stone.
We climbed the ladders to get outside for some fresh air and walked out onto the bow. Only it wasn't the only bow, we could see others around us, extending out in all directions like the arms of some massive starfish. They were all different sizes and levels and most of them were half-buried in the ground with trees and earth growing over them.
We sat on the edge of the deck and dangled our feet and watched the birds flit between the branches over our heads.
