The last couple of days of Italy were less eventful than initially planned, mostly because at the beginning of the second week I came down with what I am thinking might have been some kind of pnemonia. Mostly because it involved lots of liquid in places normally not designed for liquid, stabbing chest pains upon inhalation and sleeping sitting up. It finally got bad enough that I had to ratchet down the normal exertion level to something like walk five feet, take a picture, take a nap, repeat.
What the hell is it with my lungs blowing up every time I leave North America? Am I really that addicted to native smog?
I have been up since nine pee em local time, not counting cat naps on the plane. I'm still pretty liquid but I think I'm going to foray out to the pub for at least one pint before I fall down. It's what Johnny Cash would do.
