my soon-to-be-lost marbles
Mar. 17th, 2010 09:54 pmI had the worst gallbladder attack to date yesterday. The nerves that radiate up into my back are still twinging in protest. I've been bumping into walls all day from the painkiller-hangover.
It has been an enormous mental relief to know that in just three weeks this is all going to be over with and I can get back to a life that includes things like eating food and sleeping for eight hours in a row. Luxury awaits.
I met my surgeon on Monday and we went over the proceedure and the possible risks. She exudes an air of calm confidence. I like that a lot.
She told me she has done this particular proceedure thousands of times and never had a complication. I like that even more.
When she gave me the diagram of my digestive system to outline where the incisions would be located, she drew a happy face on the top of the page where my head would be. I like that the best.
