hit the reset
Apr. 21st, 2010 09:08 pmSo I had my gallbladder out. Two weeks ago tomorrow, as a matter of fact. Turns out that it was septic after all. The surgeon told me that she had never seen that much pus in a gallbladder before. "And you never had any fever?" she asked me, and her expression and tone of voice suggested that I really really should have.
So that's me I guess, advancing medical science one internal organ at a time.
Most of the intervening time has been spent sleeping. And eating. And then more sleeping. What it has not been spent doing is taking massive amounts of painkillers, staggering around on several days of sleep deprivation or rocking back and forth in my chair banging my head against my desk.
So I'm all in favour.
I'm still a little stiff and a little swollen and I still get tired too quickly. But the swelling has subsided to the point where I can wear most of my normal clothes again, I'm pretty close to fully mobile, and so far I seem to be able to eat anything. The weather in Toronto is gorgeous and it feels like I've woken up out of some kind of fever dream.
So how are you all?
