So, minor incident from yesterday.
BC and I bought new glasses. When the gentleman from the store was putting our orders together they were chatting about how much it sucks to be getting old and needing reading glasses all of sudden. I didn't join in the bitch session because, hello crap vision my whole life. What I did say was that I was just happy that I didn't need my glasses to read; I only need them for the computer. Dude looked at me, looked at the prescription form sitting in front of him, and said, "Really?"
Then he pulled a catalogue out from under the desk and opened it in front me. "You can read that? Because with your prescription, you should not be able to. I can't read that."
I could read it. Just fine. And he kept saying over and over again, "You should not be able to do that."
So I dunno, weird human meat trick? I'm guessing I've just gotten so used to compensating for shit vision over the years that it comes automatically now. Still, it was nice to have something work better than it's supposed to for a change.
