Well, you kind of have to be if everybody is equally vulnerable. I'm not going to trash your place if I know you could trash mine. And realistically your home is at risk if it's sitting empty for a long time, so you're trading one risk for another.
It's also a trade that's organized through a third party, so I imagine there must be some feedback mechanism. And people pay to be members, so there is an incentive not to be kicked off for misbehaving.
