Saladin Ahmed—I liked the short stories I read Alaya Dawn Johnson—I've read The Summer Prince, many people have recommended her other novels Walter Mosley—he writes mostly detective series but also some SF/fantasy (47, Futureland) Shweta Narayan—I've read some of her short stories Nisi Shawl—Filter House, a collection of short stories Colson Whitehead—The Intuitionist Indu Sundaresan—The Twentieth Wife Marjorie M. Liu—A Taste of Crimson (paranormal romance) Kazuo Ishiguro—Never Let Me Go Witi Ihimaera—Whale Rider Tananarive Due—Joplin's Ghost Ted Chiang—I've liked some of his short stories
I mostly picked up these short story collections via crowdfunding campaigns and haven't read them yet, but they might be of interest to you based on what you're looking for:
Beyond the Binary: Genderqueer Speculative Fiction, edited by Brit Mandelo (has a couple of POC authors) Dark Matter, SF from African Diaspora, edited by Sheree R. Thomas (this is an older book) We See a Different Frontier - edited by Fabio Fernandes Outlaw Bodies - edited by Lori Selke and Djibril al-Ayad
