My own metabolic issues I am assuming are just from living in a deep freezer since I haven't changed any of the drugs I'm on. If nothing changes once I get the furnace turned on I'll check further. It probably also is worth noting I'm under a shit ton of stress lately so nothing is working at normal settings.
Elderly gentleman cat has been screened and so far nothing is leaping off the page as the direct cause of the problem, but we al know that cats hide their medical issues. He's always been a pukey cat - low tolerance for stress -> over-grooming -> hairballs plus food anxiety -> bolting. But now unfamiliar or overly rich food also appears to be a problem for him.
My plan is to continue to give him small amounts of chicken every day and build up his tolerance to new food. And I figure I'll make some bone broth and see if I can add that to his regular meals as well because there is bound to be some useful calories in that.
