A global experience! You forget (so many not have experienced this trip) the fact when you attend the Office of Post that, because of the crumbling of government services and reduction in banking, huge queues of people doing stuff unrelated to the posting of items, such as paying bills, getting out cash, or, worst, getting passports.
And there a always at best two staffers. If there are more they will be sorting postal items out the back.
I did not expect them to show up at my house close to midnight.
You know, I did.
Likewise the 2AM crashing.
But he got to sleep upstairs with me for the first time in years, so I think he'll settle in OK.
