Write Every Day: Day 9

I usually set my alarm a little later on Sundays because nobody else is at work so I can take my time on tasks. It's still the most productive day of my week just because I'm never interrupted.

Lord Brock starts shouting before my alarm goes off because he wants his breakfast. Then he stands outside the bathroom door and shouts at me while I pee and wash my face because I'm taking too long. He stands at the top of the stairs and continues to shout while I throw my medications down my neck and put on pants.

Once in the kitchen I turn on the coffee while he shouts at me that I'm taking too long. I make his breakfast. If I'm lucky I make it all the way back into the kitchen before he starts shouting that his water is stale, where is his fresh water, dammit?

If I'm fast I can get my coffee into the cup before he's done eating. If I have to unload the dishwasher like I did today he's already upstairs by the time I'm finished and shouting down the stairs for me to hurry up.

Once I'm seated in my office chair I start powering up computers and monitors. He sits at my feet and shouts at me and tugs on my pant leg with a single claw. Finally I pick him up and plop him on my lap. He immediately starts purring at the top of his lungs and shoving his head under my hands.

It's a tough life. Send help.

Feb 9th - 2255 words, 2 double drabbles for one challenge, a quadruple drabble for another, and 5 ficathon fills.

You have vividly described life under the claws of a furry overlord. ;-)

On Day 9, I added 513 words to the weird western, which I had confidently asserted only a couple of days ago would come in under 2K. Today's aforementioned quota brings the story to 2182, but the end is near, and I've already gone through the first part again to take out some unnecessary verbiage. One thing at a time, I guess. I'm crossing my fingers it comes in under 2.5K. Moving the goalposts, as it were...

Oh dear, what a tyrant you have there! I wouldn't dare to take care of anything than peeing in the morning before feeding time; the priorities have been clearly established in this household! But at least once the dishes are full we're free to do what we want or need. (I'm usually doing the evening shift and Siljan the furry breakfast, but it's the same.) But it's kind of sweet how much he needs you as part of his contentment and happiness. ♥
