the_siobhanI got stuck in Caribana traffic on my way home from work Saturday. It makes sense, my work is right smack in the middle of a large Caribbean-Canadian community, and the actual party takes place mere blocks from my house. I vaguely wondered why the bus was so crowded when I got on, it honestly didn't fall into place until I noticed that the woman I was standing next to had a Jamaican flag hanging off of her purse.
Took me two hours to get home. Compared to my normal 40 minutes. Should have brought my bike.
I wasn't that upset about it. I got a seat through pure luck, and I got to read my book all the way home. There were also tons of little kids for whom this was The Best Day Ever, and I tend to find that kind of thing kind of infectious.
The rest of my long weekend was taken up by house. My next dozen weekends will be swallowed up as well. My back is not yet broken, but holy crap am I sore.
I have nothing interesting to report.
I should have an open house when this is all done.
