tote that barge.
Jul. 4th, 2003 09:21 amIt took
the_axel almost an hour to drag me out of bed this morning.
Yesterday was the appointment for the phone hook-up at the new place, so at 7AM -- exactly seven hours after getting home from work -- I was walking out the door of the apartment. I grabbed a sandwich and a coffee from the Excellent Restaurant (no kidding, that's really what it's called) and sat on our new porch to have breakfast. The sun was coming up like a big bald head and the neighbours were leaving for work or puttering in their gardens or likewise sipping coffee and nodding at each other.
"Wow" I thought. "This is what people did before they had computers."
( Then I cleaned. )
You know, I hadn't thought I got that much accomplished until I looked at that list. No wonder it felt like such a long day.
Today, get caught up on emails and phone calls (Ha!) -- then over to the house to try and clean and repair the downstairs bathroom.
I like my new house.
