I've been back at work for a week and I'm ready to tear my hair out already. How can we be this busy all the time.

Not helping that we have a new boss's boss and he wants to see reports and have meetings on everything we do. Which, yeah, of course he does. But it means we are falling even further behind because we're doing that instead of the actual job parts of our jobs.

I reached out to my dad to see if there is any way we could manage an in-person Xmas get-together. I offered that I would be willing to host if everybody was able to do a 2-week quarantine prior to the day of.

Him: "I'm hoping the lockdown will be opening up by then so we could go to a restaurant."

Me: "I am not going to any restaurants. And if you're going to restaurants, you're not allowed in my house."

It's not even the first time we've had this conversation. It's not even his fault, he's following the provincial guidelines. Meanwhile I pretty much ignore the provinces rules because I have my rules, and they are "Don't do stupid shit just because the provincial government is mishandling the pandemic and letting/forcing people do stuff that will lead to them getting sick."

There have been construction noises going on behind my backyard for the last several months, with lots of machinery and workman beetling back and forth along the tracks. About a month ago they put a fence along behind the backyards where our fence had fallen in. Yesterday there was a massive post digger and and a crane back there, putting in what appear to be enormous metal fence posts. This fence is going to be huge - judging by the workman guiding in the posts, they're at minimum 6 metres tall once they're planted.

I'm going to try and get outside on my lunch break and take a few pictures.
