Wow. You felt the Virginia earthquake in Toronto?? Impressive. The USGS web site says that East Coast earthquakes can be felt a lot further away from the epicenter than West Coast quakes (I didn't read on to find out why). I guess yours is a good example. I missed it :( but for a good cause - driving to the coast of Maine to visit Piglet and Dr. Brat in a cabin by the sea.
Magnitude 5.8 earthquake occurred in Virginia, USA at 13:51 EDT August 23rd. It was felt across south-eastern Canada including Waterloo, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Fredericton
