Every day people say, "Siobhan, tell me about the exciting life of a rock promoter. Your days must be a whirlwind of cocaine parties and nubile young groupies."

Well this is what I did today:

  • Finished the laundry, folded it and distributed it to the appropriate bedrooms. ([livejournal.com profile] bcholmes thinks it is very amusing that I do [livejournal.com profile] the_axel's laundry. Don't tell anybody, it would completely ruin my image.)

  • Finished the cost spreadsheets for The Chameleons show and tried to print them. Gah. Frankentiva is now running Windows XP and keeps insisting I need a password to print off the network.

  • Talked to a nice lady who phoned me from Bell Mobility about getting a cellphone from them. The way we use our cellphones now, (ie mostly at night and on weekends) pay-as-you-go isn't really the most financially viable.

  • Went downstairs and discovered that the house smells like rotten garbage again. Gak.

  • Cleaned out the fridge, which is usually the source of the problem when the first floor develops a pong. Threw away many things that were green when they aren't supposed to be green, fuzzy when they aren't supposed to be fuzzy, or way past their stamped "best before" date. (Rhetorical questions: How is it possible to clean out the fridge at least once a month and still keep finding containers that say "May 2001? And why exactly is it that cork must be refrigerated?)

  • Made an executive decision about what to do with left-overs that are still relatively fresh and whether they should be tossed out in a pre-emptive strike, or simply eaten. Made lunch. ;->

  • Did a load of dishes. (Notice I don't say, "I did the dishes". I don't mind washing dishes, but I hate drying them. Something to do with expending energy doing a job that will do itself if I just ignore it long enough. As a result we don't really actually ever have clean dishes, we just occasionally have smaller piles of dirty ones.)

  • Decided to take a break from cleaning. Occupied this break by trying to print the stuff I need directly off of Frankentiva -- after first reinstalling a) the printer and b) MS Office. (Roxton Manor was the scene of massive computer head-explody in the last couple of weeks -- everything had to be reformatted and the OS reinstalled.) Was finally successful after saying the magical "f" word at it a couple of times.

  • Took out the garbage that is now full of things past their "best before" date.

  • Took out the compost bins which are now magically full of green and/or fuzzy things that aren't supposed to be green and/or fuzzy, plus quite a few things that are only just wilted.

  • Scrubbed the fuck out of the compost containers.

  • Took some of the empty beer bottles out to the garbage so I have room to shift things around in the kitchen and make space for the contractors to fix the door.

  • Cleared some pressboard boxes from out of the same space and tore them up for the recycling

  • Found a cardboard box also in the same space -- took it up to the office and filled it with the computer books that I probably won't be using again before we move.

  • Filled the newly opened space on the shelves with the [livejournal.com profile] ld50_inc stuff that I probably will. I can almost see the surface of my desk. Fear me.

  • Went to the library to do some photocopying of business docs.

  • Went to the post office to mail off CDs.

  • Packed away the bits and pieces of the elderly computer that we had cannibalised to make mine work and dragged it down to the basement.

  • Emailed Nunavut. No, really.

  • Tried to finished off the last of the spreadsheets I had been working on and realized that none of the numbers make any fucking sense. Fuck it. Packed everything up to give to [livejournal.com profile] the_axel.

  • Phone the contractors who have failed to call me back. Leave a bunch of messages.

  • Sorted through my piled-up-in-great-piles inbox and managed to respond to/file/delete 60 messages.

  • Sat and watched Buffy with [livejournal.com profile] bcholmes and sewed patches on the one and only pair of jeans that currently fit my fat ass.

  • Spent an hour trying to clear some of the piles of paper of the desk in my room. Came down with armload of crap for the recycling bin.

  • Watched Angel and did more sewing.

Excitement is my middle name.

Hm. My image of [livejournal.com profile] bcholmes is not that of a nubile young groupie. This is a side of BC I had not heretofore seen...
