I'm tired of this. I'm tired of having to be careful and of forgetting not to lean back on soft chairs. (Because I can't get up again.) I'm tired of having to ask people to walk slower and of getting tired in the middle of the day.
I can't imagine what I'll be like when I'm elderly and this becomes a permanent situation. I'll turn into a horribly cranky person I imagine.
My back is killing me because I can't stretch and I can't change position in my sleep. I made an appointment with a massage therapist, although I'm not sure what they'll be able to do for me, given that I can't lie on my stomach.
My belly feels hard and tight and hot -- I'm hoping to hell it's just because I ate too much today and my stomach is too full, rather than for any more sinister reasons. If it hasn't cooled off by morning I'm taking it back to the doctor.
Grrrr... It's been over a week, dammit! I'm supposed to be healed by now!

Date: 2002-09-20 10:17 am (UTC)Some massage people have massage chairs as well as tables, which resemble a cantalievered contraption with a ring-shaped pillow at the top. One sits facing the pillow, and rests one's face in the opening of the ring, giving support it a mostly-vertical position. Getting up from teh chair can be done with mostly arm and leg strength if one is careful, so this option may be an option while you're undergoing your (hopefully speedy, but not speedy enough) recovery.
