Only an alibi sentence yesterday as Monday nights are watch-movies-with-the-girlfriend nights. We are working our way through the Star Trek movies as I haven't seen most of them, and last night was The Undiscovered Country. Much better than The Final Frontier from last week.

I think Lord Brock might have gone a bit deaf. (Honestly, mostly because he no longer seems to be able to hear me shake the treat bag.) I've noticed that he only seems to know that I'm home when I turn on the hall light. I experimented last night by leaving the hall light on while I was out and I was actually able to take my coat and boots off and unload my knapsack and get myself a tea brewing before he realized I was home. I knew the exact moment he figured it out because I could hear him start yelling from the upper floor and then he yelled all the way down the stairs and into the kitchen to find me.

He is hilarious.

Yay for watching Star Trek! Siljan and I fell in love during a Star Trek night where I saw all the movies for the first time (7 at that time) and are re-watching the movies and series repeatedly. We did Voyager last and are currently at season 2 of DS9, but it's slow going as I can't usually watch more than about an hour of anything for sensory overload reasons.
Sounds indeed like hearing issues with Lord Brock. Our male Viggo is mostly deaf, and we've learned to use hand signs with him for the most important things. He reacts well to vibration, too, which works well with the wooden floors in our house. He also always badly starts when inadvertely woken from a deep sleep because one of us passes him or he needs to be picked up (which rarely happens), and I've learned to hold my fingers close to his nose so he can get aware of my scent, and/or blow softly on his fur to get his attention. For a while we thought he can still hear the shaking of the treat jar, but it really was the vibrations or thumps / impact sound of his siblings rushing to the kitchen when they heard the sound. *g* You'd always think they never get fet, considering the speed and intensity of movement when it's treat or feeding time. Ylva often throws herself out of the cat tree from about ceiling height or so. *g*

Checking in for days 3 + 4: more work on the drawer fic WIP.
