Last night I had the worst asthma attack I've ever had.
I should have gone home a lot earlier than I did, but I was fighting giving into it, wanting to stay out and play. When I finally did go home I couldn't find my inhaler right away and I started to panic, searching the house, running back and forth until the world got very dark and very small and I woke up on the floor.
Today I hurt all over. The inside of my chest feels like there is a brick in it, my throat is raw, the muscles around my rib cage are aching, I'm covered in bruises, I have a bump on my knee and a matching one on my bean.
The irony of all this is that a major topic of conversation at the pub was the bylaw that goes into effect in Toronto on Tuesday, making all bars and clubs smoke-free.
I said I couldn't wait. Make that times 10.

Date: 2004-05-31 03:50 am (UTC)Was there no-one there with an inhaler? I'm pretty crap at taking mine out with me since I so rarely get into trouble, but I've never been in a crowded place and not been able to find someone to help when I was. Butthen, Asthma is frighteningly common here, maybe not so in your part of the world - a good thing, except in this sort of situation...
Hope you're feeling better soon and chalk this up as one more reminder from your body that you need to factor in some Take It Easy Time, eh? Get some rest!
