A Brief is more of a letter. I think.

Plurals are usually die instead or der or das, and often have an 'e' at the end, though like English, it changes depending on the noun.

"mir" is a form of "me". You want one of the forms of "mein" to say my or mine. I'm rusty on the endings for various genders and cases, though.

The German QuickDic (http://www.quickdic.de/) suggests Einzelposten (masculine) or Journalbuchung (feminine) for "journal entry." I'd bet that German slang often shortens that first one to Post (masculine), and Post means mail anyway, so it's still close.

"In" is more exactly "inside" than "using," so you want to use "auf."

Since you're talking to a bunch of us instead of just one person, you'll want ihr (y'all) instead of du.

Er...yeah - -e or -en, depending on the word (slur the speech enough and no one will know or care if you're wrong ;) ).

Ich aber vergessen alles the grammar that I learned in two intensive university German courses where I got As while falling for the gay instructor (first course) or the French philosopher (second course). But I will enjoy reading your attempts, at least to refresh my vocabulary a bit.

Funny, I was just helping con_girl translate "post" into French. (She is writing in French for practise.) Her guess was "lettre" (like Brief) but someone said "D'après Termium,«post» se traduit par article, article de discussion, contribution ou bien article de forum.". But "Post" sounds more Germanic than Romance, so I bet lil_m_moses is right about the slang.
