The spare fixtures - in this case plugs - are kept in the very back of the tool closet.

I, of coures, was looking up in the attic because that's where all the switchboxes are kept.

I managed to trip over an electrical cord when I was hanging up the laundry and ripped it out of the wall, taking half the outlet right out with it. Something went boom. And blew the breaker.

This was shortly after interrupting another rat while it was climbing in through the hole in our basement.

I'm hoping event number three is just the raging sinus cold I woke up with, but I'll keep you posted if the house burns down.

I sent the plant pics to mom and talked to her on the phone. She'll get back to me soon.

I hope the house doesn't burn down! Stupid rats. I like rats, but not wild ones. Plugs should be kept where switchboxes are!

i'm totally impressed that 1) you own spare fixtures and 2) know how to repair the damage and 3) didn't run screaming from the rat like a freaking maniac! i can't deal with any wild creature that can't be taken out with my swiffer :-p

We bought all kinds of switchboxes and outlets when we moved in because most of the pre-existing wiring doesn't work. Take a look at our office setup some time when you're over - it's all new wiring that's been strung from the breakerbox.

I'm getting positively blase about the rats. This is the third time!
