It looks like I'm actually going to have to break down and go to a doctor to see if anything additional can be done about my back. It still hurts and it's given up pretending it's going to get better any time soon. I'm thinking some muscle relaxants might do the trick.

When I was sitting around the house sniffling - and not doing any unpacking - I spent my time sorting through the photographs. 550 were deemed good enough to keep. I think I threw away just as many. I love digital cameras.

And in all that no decent pics of the wedding. Too bad, it was great fun. Probably the best wedding I've ever been to. (I'm not counting yours, [livejournal.com profile] elixxir, because I was sick as a dog during the whole weekend.)

Of course, we picked the week that gas went up to stupid prices to go on a roadtrip. Beans and rice for us for the next couple of months. Er.. except heating prices are supposed to go way up - make that several more months of beans and rice in our still-uninsulated house.

Note that I'm commenting, not complaining. It's kind of hard to complain when you have a job and a dry place to sleep and as much beans and rice and clean water as you want every day.

Pictures to be posted whenever I get done putting them online.

Thanks! :)

We're going to go through the pictures on the photographer's site tomorrow evening and get that link posted. Really. We will. I swear.

Huge congrats! The pics look gorgeous. I so wish I could have been instead of hanging with my future MIL.

I haven't (ever?) commented here, but seeing as you're on my Friends List . . .

For a "bad"/aching/injured/etc. back you might want to look into Matt Furey's Combat Abs (http://www.mattfurey.com/combat_abs.html) and Combat Conditioning. (http://www.mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html) I know, I know, the titles and the author's name come on pretty strong, but these are really great functional exercises for people at any level of fitness.

Anywho, they've been the best thing I've ever found (really, and I have pretty high athletic/fitness standards)--a few weeks of a few minutes a day and low-level chronic back pain gone completely--so I figure I should suggest them when I find someone who might benefit.

Ciao!

First off, thanks for the suggestion.

Can you tell me anything more about the program? I did some online searches but I couldn't find much info about it.

I did subscribe to his mailing list.

Be glad to. I'm busy tonight, but I'll send some stuff tomorrow. If I don't, remind me again.

I really like his e-mails. They're the only type of "inspirational" newsletter I've ever found worthwhile. But I'll shut up now and let you make up your own mind about them. :)

Would it be okay to e-mail to the address in your profile? It'd be easier than posting here.

Ciao!
Cadence

Tried IMing you, but you were quite focused on your mantra .. What exactly is wrong with your back? Have you done / tried any of the following:

A Chiropractor
Robaxacet Platinum
Glucosamine
Chondroitin Sulfate
MSM
Tai Chi

All of the above have done wonders for my back - seriously. I haven't put it out in years and hope that I won't any time soon.

I don't have IM at work, unfortunately.

I'm doing the chiro weekly. I haven't done Tai Chi in years, but I've been thinking about getting back into yoga. My problem is, as usual, scheduling. Just not possible.

I've heard of glucosamine, but Robaxacet Platinum, Chondroitin Sulfate and MSM are all new to me.

final double check

Hi! We've been mutual friends for a while and I'm setting up a restricted section on my journal. It will be kind of a safe haven for me, populated by and visible to only people I can trust.

If you want in (and you can always opt out), just reply here and I'll make it so. Check out my User Info for details.

It should be up and running in about a week.

P.S. This is an form message I generated to save my fingers some walking. Don't take it personally. :)
