Apparently there is some kind of stomach virus going around. I found this out because I am stuck at home sick and perusing LJ while spending the last two days mostly glued to the ten feet of house that encompass bed and bathroom.
I am wobbly of legs and spacey of head and I have developed the inexplicable tendancy to awaken wide-eyed and sleepless at 6am every morning, but yet I am undaunted.
That's because I have an INTERVIEW!
Cross your various crossing-bits for me folks.
In other good news; in one week
bcholmes and I leave for Italy. Right in time for the winter olympics. No, we did not plan it that way, we are just clueless about all things involving sports. Oops.
I want to go to Vatican city while we are there, just so I can see the Latin ATMs.
I will take lots of pictures.

Date: 2006-02-05 08:05 pm (UTC)Have fun! Wish I knew where my restaurant list was b/c I'd share it with the two of you. If either of you like tripe, Rome is famous for it so give it a try. Thursdays in Rome are generally the day for gnocchi specials in the take away joints and restaurants so that's always yummy. While in Rome, try eating in the old Jewish ghettto (in the area known as Trastevere - will be listed in any guide books) as the Jewish-Roman food is fantastic.
And as long as you aren't going near Torino or Milan you should be fine as far as the Olympics go. Airports and train stations might be a bit messy though.
Have fun! I'm jealous. :)

Date: 2006-02-06 01:39 pm (UTC)I still don't like tripe (tripa in Italian). Texture issues mainly. But since it is one of the city's famed dishes I generally point it out to travellers because you never know other folks tastes.
