Note to self, do not make posts on controversial subjects mere hours before leaving town for two days.

We cruised around southern Ontario and we slept on an ice-breaker last night. No camping though, every campsite in the world was full.

That was my version of time off until September.

Yeah, [livejournal.com profile] clawfoot just told [livejournal.com profile] okoshun and I that unless we go in late October or later, campsites are pretty much totally booked. :/

Sleeping on an ice-breaker seems pretty neat, though!

Two years ago we went the week after Labour Day & that wa fine.

Also, you can book at Provincial Campsites in advance, and they did have vacancies the day before we left (we just didn't want to pay the $10 advance booking fee).

It depends on where you are going. We stuck close to Lake Ontario so everything was pretty busy. The further afield you go, the better your chances are.

And as Axel said, there are usually more options after Labour Day, when the kids go back to school.

in unrelated to icebreaker camping...
