International Women's Day

Which I think was actually Wednesday, but I never claimed to be good with dates.

Anyway a couple of days ago, Rosie the Riveter showed up on my userinfo page with this text;

You strike me as the sort of person who cares about the plight of women everywhere, so I thought you might appreciate this. I can't really afford to get one for everybody on my friends list who cares, so I'm taking a semi-random section of the people who I most strongly suspect would. I hope it's a cause you can feel good about supporting.

It turns out[1] that the charity in question is this one; Women for Women International, which helps women in "conflict and post-conflict environments".

It is in fact, exactly the kind of cause I would like to support. Thank you anonymous.

That's totally the kind of cause I would like to support. Particularly as they've identified that nobody else seems to be doing anything for women in southern Sudan (why is the Sudanese government so sure it can get away with Darfur? Because they've been slaughtering people in southern Sudan for decades and the world hasn't said a thing).
