Admittedly, like siani I'm kinda wondering why I would give money to some Canadian when there are one billion other things I could give my cash to (The Tsunami appeal, fer example).

I think both of you have really missed the point.

It's a performance. It started yesterday, it will end on December 31 2005. The point is to watch it unfold and see what she does with it. Whether or not you want to "participate" in the perfomance or just watch it (or ignore it completely) is entirely up to you.

Luckily, she doesn't need to rely on individual donations to make it. ;) This isn't "give me a million dollars", it's a year long art project.

And as to one person making a cash grab, for whatever reason, when there are other money sinks in the world: there's a lot of money in the world. We'll be all right.
