This is what we returned home to.



The kitchen was a little worse for wear and tear.



It also took me a couple of days to get all the wiring sorted out.



We had to hang plastic over areas where there are still bits of plaster and mortar crumbling down on us.



And replace the existing plastic that was too dirty to touch.



That arch will eventually come down, but for now it gives us a place to attach outlets.
