Looking towards the front of the house. The bed you see is a futon couch so it will be our sitting place when not hosting guests. Note the strategic location of the beer fridge.


Other side of the living room. That "window" into the office is where the television etc is going to live when we finally dig it out of storage.


Office. Thanks to new layout I will now be able to say I only ever see Axel in profile.

The kitchen still needs a major overhaul (being sick put me a couple of days behind schedule) along with a few other areas. But we're getting there.

Now if I can just find some of that stuff that I packed away in boxes...

I don't think so, given that we cut the cord off a while ago.

Eventually I'm going to take the guts out and use the shell from something. In the meantime the aquarium lives on top of it.

have you considered putting the aquarium *in* it? some guys I knew in college did this and it was amazing.

Yep. That's the plan.

We have to take it apart first though, and arrange to drop off the tube. (It's toxic waste and has to go to a special disposal facility, and of course they are all way out in the burbs.)

its looking really good in general though. are the metal pillars the long term solution or only temporary?

The metal pillars are long-term - they are what's holding up the beam and they sit directly over the poles in the basement. Eventually they will be sealed in drywall.
