Things I did not manage to get accomplished this week
  • The to-do list that was supposed to be finished by last weekend
  • Slug-proof my garden
  • See my girlfriend
  • Call my mother
  • Catch up on my email
  • Start my mix-tape
  • Cook snails
  • Clean off my desk
  • Run
  • Get enough sleep

Things I did manage to get accomplished this week
  • Remembered to take all the proper medications at the proper times in the proper amounts
  • Finish my first week of pushups
  • Fill the freezer
  • Get my resume in for new job
  • Renew the mortgage
  • Got 50% of the way through everything on the to-do list for last week
  • Clean the bedroom & bathroom enough to host Australians
  • Work a six-day week
  • Not fall asleep on my desk
  • Not hit Axel
  • Not hit anybody else

I've decided I'm designating August as an appointment-free month. No doctors, no specialists, no tests. If it falls off I'll just staple it back on until September.

That pushup site assumes knowledge of what constitutes a "good form push up" and seems to assume standard form, rather than a variation, will be used because it does not mention variations. The wikipedia article mentions variations, but not "good form" vs "less good form."

Good on you for working that upper body strength! :)

Duct tape has actual medical applications, and would cause less tissue damage than staples. It would probably be more effective as well.

Slug-proof my garden + Cook snails?
I did our garden last weekend with slug and snail pellets. How do Canadians do it?

    See my girlfriend
At some point, whenever you feel like it ('cause it ain't none o' mine) I will probably ask you to update me on your relationship status. I appear to be out of touch.

    Start my mix-tape

Since my garden is intended to be eaten, with something non-toxic.

And there I am, putting snail and slug baits down thinking "hopefully the local cats won't eat them."
My mum has talked me out of a vege garden. Strangely.

Actually, I knew that of old, but wasn't sure if it was still a 'thing'. I'm also somewhat unclear on the nature of your and Axel's relationship (which seemed to come out of the blue in 2002 and I have never really asked about - possibly I missed something). And hey, what business is it of mine? It is what it is.

Incidentally, if B&D are arriving, you should welcome them to Canadia for me as you feel appropriate on my behalf.

Axe & I hooked up in 2001. We moved in together spring 2003. And this week we renewed the mortgage on our house.

They are here and complaining about the heat.

We're taking them to see Evil Dead tonight.

I think I left ag in 2001 and didn't sign on to LJ until late 2002, so that would explain the gap in my knowledge somewhat. I am impressed Canadian mortgages can be re-jigged in the first five years.

    Pusssies.
Give them my wuv, or manly arm punches - as appropriate. And tell B I watched another ep of SPN.

It's the little things that count!

How are the push ups going? I did 5 consecutively on Wednesday! Today remains to be seen.

Y'all, I'm confused by this push-up thing. Boy push-ups or girl push-ups? Because I can do 50 or so from a kneeling position before I fall over, but from my toes can only manage 3 or 4 - in part because I've got a torn tendon in the ball of my foot, but still...

No, it doesn't, but it does cause a verysatisfying scream upon removal, plus I can get it it in nifty prints from Archie McPhee.

The program is designed for full push-ups. Although ti makes perfect sense to do the modified version if you have tendon damage.

I think you left right before I did. 2001, I was slowly starting to creep away. 2002 was the death knell.

I've heard people are doing modified pushups against a countertop or at a comfortable diagonal on stairs or something, too.

I could do TWO at the start. Now I can manage 5-12. Whoopie!

I did wall push-ups as part of my physiotherapy when I broke my arm. They helped a lot. They felt totally lame, like why bother, but they really did help move things along.
