I have read about cultures where, if you have something good or important, you never praise it in public. A passing demon might hear you, become jealous of your luck and break or spoil the thing that you are so happy about.

I don't even believe in demons. You'd think that would be enough to get them to not fuck with me.

Hrmmm.

"Hey all the credit card debt I have from the trip - isn't it great! I'm really loving that bit!"

Oddly enough, money is the one area where I'm still kinda stupid.

I was great at being poor. Having a little bit of disposable income is weird for me, and I have to pay a lot closer attention to to keep from screwing it up.

Totally, you should sign your finances over to me for two months.
I am totally debt averse.

/// So averse I am not paying my credit card off today.

This week I am finally going to buy that punching bag I'm always talking about.

Do demons respond to reverse psychology?

The dates for my credit card bill are such that I don't have to deal with the damage until the end of the month, after I've been paid.

The bill's probably going to be for more than has gone in, but I'll deal with that when it happens.

Demons, sadly, are all equipped with advanced sarcasm and suffering detectors. The fuckers.

My parents and all of my extended family is like that. Makes you wanna go hide in a cave. I piss them off by screaming the praise out. That really pisses them off.
