So I can crosspost all DW posts to LJ easily enough. My last post allowed commenting only on the DW site and I'm debating whether or not to keep it that way. It makes things easier for me to have all responses in one place, but more of a pain for those who only have LJ.

Is there a way to set it up so that clicking the comment link on LJ opens the post in DW? I'm guessing not. And how do you include the footer that tells you how many comments there are already?

[ETA] I just realized I had the commenting set to only allow people with DW accounts. I've changed it to allow anonymous comments.

Using the system default footer, IIRC, will display or not display number of comments depending on how many there are and who's allowed to comment. Dun' remember the details, though.

my footer code (set here) looks like this:

%%comment_image%% comments on the original Dreamwidth post. Comment there after logging in via OpenID.


I have the same footer code in both boxes.

I have similar code, though I think the tags may have gotten eaten by the posting process - there's an a href= around the appropriate code. I'll try it with just the macro though, to see if the tags are automatically added.

Also, another nice thing I found when I went to add the Live-Twit-Face tags to the related posts - DW updates the LJ crosspost when the DW post is edited.
